Individual Therapy for Kids

What to Expect from OCD and Anxiety Therapy for Kids & Teens

OCD and anxiety disorders are the primary focus of our practice. These symptoms require more than supportive conversation; they require a specialized, targeted, evidence-based treatment approach.

Our Approach

We specialize in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a well-established, evidence-based treatment for OCD, along with other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-informed treatment). These therapies are active and collaborative. Sessions include structured exercises, guided practice, and between-session skill-building to help kids and teens apply what they learn in real life.

Therapy at CBTeam is both structured and flexible; grounded in research, shaped by your child or teen’s individual needs, and supported by a team that knows this work deeply. We are known for our flexibility in structuring therapy to meet each child or teen where they are and adapting treatment as they make progress.

ERP tends to be a gradual and collaborative process. We work together to build a personalized plan, taking manageable steps to help kids and teens face fears, build confidence, and learn that they can handle anxiety.

Anxiety treatment is hard work, and ERP can feel challenging at times. We move at a pace that is supportive and manageable, planning each step together so your child or teen feels prepared, successful, and supported throughout the process.

What to Expect When You Reach Out

Once you complete our online inquiry form, a member of the CBTeam team will respond within 1–2 business days.

During the intake call, we will:

  • Learn more about what’s been going on with your child or teen
  • Explain which of our services we would recommend
  • Review financial details and answer any questions you have
  • Walk you through the next steps, including paperwork and scheduling

We know reaching out for your child or teen can feel vulnerable. Every inquiry matters to us, and we approach each call with care and respect. If we’re not the right fit, we will do our best to provide guidance or referrals when possible, so you’re not left navigating this alone. Our goal is to make the process clear, supportive, and steady from the very first conversation.
