A fall group for kids and teens ages 7 to 17

This four-week group is for kids and teens who worry about feeling sick or getting sick. Kids and teens practice facing their worries in small steps, together with peers who understand. Parents and caregivers meet separately by video to learn how to support that practice at home.

Schedule

The group runs for four weeks. Kids and teens meet in person twice a week, and parents and caregivers meet virtually once a week.

Kids and teens group: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 to 7:30 pm ET, in person at CBTeam, 81 Hartwell Avenue, Suite 310, Lexington, MA

  • Week 1: Monday, October 19, and Wednesday, October 21
  • Week 2: Monday, October 26, and Wednesday, October 28
  • Week 3: Monday, November 2, and Wednesday, November 4
  • Week 4: Monday, November 9, and Thursday, November 12 (in place of Wednesday, November 11, Veterans Day)

Parent and caregiver group: Tuesdays, 12:00 to 1:00 pm ET, virtual (by video)

  • October 20, October 27, November 3, and November 10

Fees

Screener and hierarchy session: $175. Every family completes this before the group begins. The child or teen meets with a CBTeam clinician, who gets to know them, and together they plan the practice steps they will work on in group.

Group series: $1,800 for the full series, which is 12 sessions at $150 each (8 kids and teens groups and 4 parent and caregiver groups). Families sign up for the full series rather than individual sessions.

CBTeam is private pay and does not bill insurance. Families can request a superbill to submit to their insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

How to sign up

Complete the Get Started form and select “Courageous Kids & Teens: Worries About Getting Sick (Fall 2026).” A member of our Client Care Team will be in touch within two business days to talk through next steps and schedule the screener and hierarchy session.

For parents and professionals

This group is for kids and teens with emetophobia, a fear of throwing up or of getting sick. The group uses exposure and response prevention (ERP), an evidence-based approach for this fear. Therapists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, school counselors, and school psychologists are welcome to share this page with families or reach out to us at info@cbteam.org.
