Clinical Training & Interests

Kelly Ann first became interested in treating anxiety in children and adolescents while learning about differentiating diagnoses as a college student. During this time, she was selected to become one of twelve students in the Clinical Area of Focus Program and working at her university’s mental health center. In these settings, Kelly Ann was educated in the symptoms and treatment of anxiety, depression, substance use, eating disorders and OCD. She became fascinated with the importance of diagnostic clarity in instances of “overlapping” symptoms. Kelly Ann valued the client-centered and collaborative aspects of diagnosis and treatment, alongside working in settings which allowed her to present as an authentic, warm, and helpful entity of the health care system. Her clinical interests developed into passion and experience as she furthered her education earning her masters and doctoral degree in clinical health psychology. Throughout her doctoral program, Kelly Ann gained competency in evidence-based practices and comprehensive psychological assessment. Kelly Ann’s clinical training has been conducted in a myriad of settings including medical hospitals, boarding schools, state rehabilitation agencies, inpatient and outpatient programming, and community mental health clinics.

Following the completion of her doctoral classes, Kelly Ann was accepted to an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship in Leavenworth, KS. While in KS, Kelly Ann worked with underserved children and families providing individual therapy and comprehensive psychological assessment. Her work often resulted in providing treatment recommendations to families, health care providers, schools, and court systems as necessary for supportive and effective treatment. Kelly Ann enjoys a culturally humble, integrative, and team-based approach to mental health treatment, which she has found at CBTeam for her post-doctoral fellowship. Kelly Ann plans to spend the next year at CBTeam building an expertise in educational assessment and acute OCD treatment.
