Meet Melissa
Melissa is a part-time Doctoral Behavioral Therapist at CBTeam, where she provides individual therapy to individuals across the lifespan under the supervision of our licensed clinicians. She is a fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at William James College, an APA-accredited program. Melissa first joined CBTeam in 2023 as a Behavioral Coach and completed her CBTeam practicum year at CBTeam from 2024 to 2025. During this time, she completed specialized training and supervised practice in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) within the child and adult Intensive Outpatient Programs. Melissa has also received formal clinical training through Boston Medical Center’s comprehensive addiction program and the Judge Baker Center for Children and Families’ Manville School, a therapeutic day school for youth ages 5-18.
Before her graduate training, Melissa worked as a mental health specialist at McLean Hospital, supporting older adults needing inpatient-level care. Currently, she trains at Bentley University’s College Counseling Center and runs CBT-based groups for teens at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Melissa is passionate about supporting individuals with co-occurring ADHD, ASD, and OCD/anxiety. She values clear, honest communication with clients and adjusts how she presents information to meet different cognitive needs. Melissa takes a collaborative approach to therapy, infused with humor, realness, and nerdy research references. Her research centers on sibling relationships, specifically social comparison processes among twins. Outside of work, Melissa enjoys hiking, making playlists, learning new things, and listening to books on tape.
